Flo with Confidence

This is the menstrual health education we should have received in school... but we didn't. I'm here to change that.

I remember my menstrual cycle education at elementary school being very minimal. What I learned was that I could become pregnant at any point in my cycle, and that experiencing menstrual cramps around my period was normal. I was embarrassed talking about my period with friends. Relatable?

No wonder women have no idea how to advocate for themselves?

I didn't learn all there was to learn about my menstrual cycle until I went to naturopathic medical school. But I'm here to tell you that you don't need to do the same in order to learn about your body's physiology and hormones.

I really wanted to take the time to put this series together after having countless conversations with women in my office about their menstrual health. Women want to really understand what they are being prescribed, and why they are feeling how they are feeling.

So this is for you if:

You have always wanted to learn more about your menstrual cycle and the cyclical nature of hormones throughout your cycle.

You want to learn more about various birth control methods and the difference between them so that you can make better informed decisions with respect to your health.

You are experiencing PMS symptoms and want to learn more about how you can help manage these symptoms.

A 2020 survey of 2000 American women asked them to rate the top aspects of the women's reproductive system they wish the knew. Here is what they said:

1. What different organs do 42%

2. When a woman is most fertile 35%

3. How reproductive system works 31%

4. Menstruation 16%

5. Puberty 8%

If you answered "yes, me too" to any of these, then you are in the right place.

Dr. Daiana is absolutely incredible. She has been empathetic, extremely knowledgeable, and gave me a plan that was manageable. I love the way she cares deeply for her patients and found her investigative work to be so helpful in getting to the root of my issues. I highly recommend her care!

S.G.

Dr. Daiana has been an integral part of my health journey. From our first interaction, I was blown away by how attentive and knowledgeable she was. Not only did she take the time to listen to and validate my concerns, she also made sure I understood and was comfortable with my treatment plan. It shows that Dr. Daiana is truly passionate about what she does. I will continue to recommend her to family, friends and patients.

J.H.

Daiana is above all very knowledgeable and up to date in many women's health areas. Just by my interactions with her, you can see that she is keen on staying up to date with her knowledge (which is hard to say for a lot of medical practitioners). I feel like she genuinely cares about my well being and is always open and honest with me about my care.
